Family Says Missing Mom Taken Against Her Will
The family of a missing California mother said Friday they believe the woman was taken against her will and urged the public for help in finding her.
Cindy Sambueso, 50, disappeared on Tuesday after dropping off her teenage daughter at home before heading to her massage therapy business for a noon appointment, according to local reports.
The family said they received two text messages from Sambueso at around 11:15 a.m. -- one confirming dinner plans for later that day.
But Sambueso was never seen or heard from again. When a client arrived at her office for a 3:30 p.m. appointment, the office was reportedly dark and Sambueso was nowhere to be found.
Her cellphone was reportedly found inside the office, but her purse and car were gone, as well as her appointment book listing the name of the client she met with at noon.
"My mom would never go willingly, ever," the woman's daughter, Katherine Sambueso, said in an interview with Fox News. Fresno police are investigating Sambueso's disappearance, but say they have no evidence as of yet to consider it suspicious.
"Even if the police said there wasnt any evidence of foul play, the circumstances are so suspicious," Katherine Sambueso said. "There is that suspicion that somebody maybe did end up taking her but were kind of hoping for the best right now."
"Just not knowing is scary to us," added Sambueso's ex-husband, Robert.
Sambueso was last seen driving a 2000 red Honda Accord with license plate number 4LVP286. She is described as 5-foot-10, weighing 130 pounds, with brown eyes and blonde hair.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to call the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-7000.
