Cindy Anthony has been all but cannonized by Nancy Grace who refuses to allow any guests to come close to suggesting anything other than "Cindy Anthony is a saint." We cannot help but wonder if the producers have been in contact with Cindy for an exclusive.
Cindy Anthony showed acute heartache on the stand. She appeared to have been confronted with reality, something she seems to be able to push away from her mind (denial) in order to avoid pain. She seems to be someone who is skilled at this manner of denial, which is, in fact, a form of deception; self deception.
Question: But if practiced denial is a form of self deception, what happens when the denial is projected towards others?
Answer: It is deception, and it shows up in the language and in the body language, as Dr. Lillian Glass recently showed.
It is as if a bill has come in the mail, and as long as the subject does not open it, it does not exist. If the owed company then phones the subject to demand payment, the subject says "I don't owe you anything! I don't have a bill!" as the bill sits on the nightstand, unopened.
If the subject knows that there is a bill, unopened, on the nightstand, the subject is now deceptive and the language will reveal the deception.
But what if...
what if the bill was lost in the mail and the subject had no knowledge of said bill?
Answer: The subject's language would not show deception.
If a person repeats something that is a lie, believing it to be true, statement analysis will not show deception. Why? Because the subject is not being deceptive; the subject is ill-informed, but is not intentionally seeking to deceive.
Cindy Anthony knows a bill is due.
Each and every day she has stared at that unopened bill on the nightstand, and it is only recently that she has begun to open it, and now, slowly, has read the first line or two.
"Dear Ms. Anthony..." it said in the opening line.
"Your granddaughter, Caylee, is deceased..." was also in the opening line.
"Zanaida, Zanny the Nanny, does not exist" came next.
Little by little, Cindy Anthony is reading the bill; a bill that she has known existed since July of 2008 when she wrote on her My Space account that Caylee was missing.
Universally, media coverage has portrayed Cindy Anthony in a favorable light, for the first time in 3 years.
But was Cindy Anthony truthful?
The difficulty of this type of question comes from the many statements made by Cindy Anthony under oath. A better question would be:
Did Cindy Anthony always tell the truth on the stand?
The answer is: No.
Both Cindy and George were truthful in many of their responses, but both Cindy and George were also deceptive in some of their answers. Statement Analysis will show this very thing upon release of the transcripts.
George showed high sensitivity in his answers regarding his own behavior, in particular, while under cross examination from Jose Baez where George gave long winded responses, appearing to attempt to explain away his own abdicating behavior. His deception may be related to shame, where he is embarrassed at his reactions and lack of leadership in the home. While commenting on this yesterday, Bill Shaeffer first said that George appears to have yielded to Cindy but then only a few sentences later said "it is obvious that Cindy ruled the roost."
Is it reasonable to think that if your young, unmarried daughter says she is pregnant to not insist on knowing the father and contacting his family?
George also seemed quite disconnected to the night of the 911 call. How is it that his daughter was being questioned by his son, and not by him?
His sketchy behavior could be...could be:
1. His abdication.
George is not masculine. He does not live by a code of sacrifice for his family, but instead has a history of using his wife for his own lazy ways. She has been the breadwinner, and he has been the disability junkie, gambling addict, and thief, robbing his own wife of her retirement in his quest to do nothing in life but watch TV. He never led his family and always reverted to the child-role when a crisis arose. Cindy may be tough and controlling, but George's abdication certainly contributed to Cindy being forced into a leadership role that appeared, at times, to be more like a single parent of 4 children (Lee, Casey, Caylee and George) than a wife. It is not surprising that she would turn to the private investigator for comfort. Perhaps George's sensitivity is simply due to shame, and therefore, he is deceptive rather than have to face his own reality that he has not been a father to his children, nor a husband to his wife. Perhaps.
2. His role
Perhaps it is something else, however. His long answers with high sensitivity plays into Jose Baez' hand when he claimed that George dumped the body.
I don't buy it.
But did George have knowledge of Caylee's death early on?
Yes he did.
In fact, he and Cindy both knew, from the moment they smelled Caylee's decomposition in the car. They knew. Yet, they both went on television (seeking funds and attempting to influence public opinion) insisting that Caylee was alive. Now, it is being spun as "denial" whereas for the past three years the public has recognized (and resented) Cindy and George's lies. They knew she was dead and Statement Analysis showed:
George and Cindy knew where Caylee was buried "in the woods" as Cindy offered to the media on the day that she kicked Tim Miller and Texas Equasearch out of her home. Tim was too good at what he does for Cindy to allow Caylee's remains to be found, so she first sabotaged all efforts at gaining knowledge, including refusing to let Tim ask Casey questions. Then, as the situation escalated, Saint Cindy threw him out of the home and told him to get off her property. (Later she ridiculed him with some very cruel words and insinuation).
Tim Miller said that it was the first time, in all of his years searching that a family did not cooperate.
Question: Did George Anthony conspire with Casey, and/or Lee, in moving Caylee's remains?
Answer: I don't know.
George knew that Caylee was dead. Is he being deceptive because he had guilty knowledge, and possibly even guilty behavior after the fact? We wait to find out.
Something is wrong, here. Something is very wrong.
George knew, as did Cindy, that they were cleaning up a crime scene and Cindy worked quickly to destroy the "smell of a dead body in the car" and in the clothing and belongings.
We ached when we saw her collapse on the stand and hurt for her when she said that Caylee's own doll had the smell on it. The stark reality was brutal upon us, strangers who did not know nor love Caylee. If it hurt us, how much more so did it hurt Cindy?
Yet, we have heard Cindy lie, repeatedly for 3 years about that odor and her testimony on the stand, although closer to the truth, was still a lie.
Decomposition of a human body is an odor of which, once smelled, is never forgotten, nor is it ever confused with anything else, including old pizza or garbage. It initiates the human gag reflex, if smelled close enough, and it permeats fabrics, including plastic. Even if Casey kept the air conditioning running and had tripled bagged the body, the odor will permeate the plastic fibers and make its way through.
Decades can pass and that odor is not forgotten. It is distinct, horrific, and no medical training is needed to discern it.
Cindy knew.
Now she is being hailed as a hero for testifying truthfully, but even as she came off as lacking credibility in the eyes of the jury, is this something that may later save Casey's life? Will the jury see Cindy as controlling, and even a bit nutty, as she spoke of all the imaginery characters as if they were living people? Did they feel sorry for her for baking a cake for Casey's imaginery new love interest, or will they think, "she helped Casy lie. Did she teach Casey to lie?"
Thus far, it appears that Lillian Glass is one of the few to have the courage to say "hey, not so fast in the cannonization of Cindy Anthony."
Dr. Glass, in her frequently updated blog, wrote out just how Cindy's deceptive answers may actually save Casey from the death penalty. You can read the entire article, along with other body language analysis at her web site. Below is an exert from her analysis of Cindy Anthony's testimony.
Cindy Anthony the saint? No. Denial may be a way of protecting one self from the ugly realities of life; a defense mechanism which operates on a reflex, but is only a stage of processed thought, as the mind protects itself. But it is only a stage to pass through. To willfully remain in denial means to look at the bill on the nightstand, knowing its contents, willfully and deliberately refuse to open it, and then declare that no such bill is owed is deception.
Dr. Lillian Glass:
"As Jose Baez calmly cross examined Cindy on the stand, he clearly showed us that the apple does not fall far from the tree. Casey lies and is in denial and so does Cindy. His questions and Cindy’s answers painted a pictures of a highly judgmental overly invasive mother who knew about Casey’s issues years before there even was a Caylee.
As he asks her invasive questions about Casey we see many signals of deception and discomfort coming from Cindy like her looking down and not being able to maintain eye contact.
And finally we see her having a case of “cotton mouth” where her mouth is dry and she licks her teeth to get the saliva going.
Whether you like or dislike Jose Baez is not the issue here , He did a great job in his questioning of Cindy and in giving jurors insight in exposing who Cindy really is.
CASEY MADE BY STORIES AS A WAY OF HAVING ONE UPMANSHIP OVER CINDY’S CONTROL
The level of detail that Cindy knew about all aspects of Casey’s life was astounding. Casey made up stories appeared to me to be her passive aggressive way of keeping her controlling neat freak mother at arms length. Casey played Cindy like a puppet, who in my view probed and probed into Casey’s life, so much so, that Casey took control by makng up stories. Casey seemed to set up her fictitious stories with all the fictitious characters well in advance, This makes me wonder if Casey was thinking of offing Caylee well before she did the deed.
HOW CAN A REGISTERED NURSE NOT KNOW CERTAIN THINGS?
For a nurse who said she debrided rotting flesh to not know that the car smelled like death and to obstruct justice by tampering with the evidence and spraying Fabreeze in the car and washing clothes and cleaning a doll is astounding.
Even more astounding was how can a nurse not know her daughter was pregnant or had a protruding abdomen.
The inconsistencies of her testimony and the lying to Yuri Melich about the pool ladder and now singing a different tune is one of the many lies she told in her depositions and lies she told to law enforcement. I won’t give her any slack for trying to protect her daughter. If she was trying to protect her daughter she wouldn’t have called 911 in the first place.
Her misleading authorities with giving them the wrong hairbrush points to Cindy;s control freak nature.
I also don’t buy that she was searching for Zanny the Nanny until 6 weeks ago or that she believed Caylee was still alive, even after the remains were found. She kept stating this in interviews and even said it on the stand in one of the pre trial hearings.
As a nurse she would know that once bones and remains are identified as being those of Caylee, Caylee is dead and there is sero chance she is alive.
Even Linda Drane Burdick busted Cindy for her lies. Cindy said she didn’t put the dyer sheet in the car during her deposition when she actually did put it there . Cindy attributed it to the medication she was taking. While certain medications may cause word finding difficulties and cognitive loss, they do not conveniently wipe out memory in this way. So I don’t but her medication excuse which is using to cover up her perjuring herself.
NEVER HAVING ANY REASON NOT TO TRUST CASEY?
Cindy had never been away from Caylee for a day. How could she allow the 30 days to go by. Cindy showed many signals of deception on the stand when she said that Casey never gave her any reason not to trust Casey.
The signals of deception included: looking down, licking her lips, pursing her lips.
I would think that running up credit cards and stealing money from her grandparents was reason enough for Cindy not to trust Casey. So it is evident that she was not being honest here.
CASEY’S TRUE CALLING
After hearing Casey’s elaborate stories with her elaborate characters, it is clear to me that Casey missed her calling. She needed to leave Cindy’s controlling clutches and come to Hollywood where she could have made a lot of money using her vivid imagination to become a writer for soap opera ( before they were all cancelled).
Hearing the story about how Jeff’s mother Jules was getting married in the hospital chapel because she had cancer was beyond amazing. hearing about Juliet Lewis and Anabell and Zanny’s mother and roomate was astounding.
Casey even went into detail about how Zanny the nanny was Jeff’s girlfriend. They broke up and now Casey was Jeff;s new girlfriend. Baez even asked Cindy if she thought it was an odd scenario which she answered with her uncomfortable looking body language.
CINDY’S TESTIMONY MAY INADVERTENTLY SPARE CASEY’S LIFE
There is no question that Cindy has come to court with the intention of not protecting Casey. After hearing the opening statements about sexual molestation, she is fighting tooth an nail to save the rest of her family unit. She is not going to allow Casey to destroy what little she has left.
But in my view, Baez’ questioning of Cindy may help Casey not get the death sentence. Many jurors may dislike Cindy so much and be so upset by her lies to save her daughter by lying in her deposition and lying to law enforcement, and be turned off by her controlling nature that they may understand how Casey became the way she is.
Yes it was heartbreaking o see Cindy sobbed on the stand. Yes it was horrible to hear how rudely Casey spoke to Cindy int he jailhouse tapes . But seeing Cindy on the stand and watching her body language responses to Baez’ questions (even of they weren’t allowed) and how she tried to manipulate law enforcement and her deposition testimony may make some jurors more sympathetic towards Casey. http://www.drlillianglass.com/Source URL: https://wallpaper-com.blogspot.com/2011/06/saint-cindy.html
